Well, here we are at the early part of the 2016/17 Season with barely a bowl bowled. The weather gods have been agin us for the last two weeks since Daylight Saving arrived resulting in the postponement of Round 1 of the Pennants Championship and several opportunities for a Club events and roll-ups have been abandoned in favour of the Club House bar.
However, we are looking forward to a reasonably fine day on Saturday 8th for a partly combined 1st & 2nd Round when we play 3 away games at Mairangi Bay against Mairangi Bay, Takapuna and Helensville(?) We also have 3 games on Sat 15th to complete the catch-up with the 4th Round at Takapuna on 22nd and hopefully the Final (again - remember we were in it last year) on the 29th.
We can also report a good response to our efforts to increase our membership this season and we look forward to our newcomers getting involved not only on the green but in the social activities of the Club.
Talking of Greens, ours is in excellent condition, if a little damp, but Morris, our Green Keeper, is confident it will be available as soon as it dries out a little. What play we have had indicates a true and medium paced surface which will only speed up as it dries out. WELL DONE MORRIS!!!
For those not familiar with our programme we have open nights on Tuesdays (6pm for 6.30pm start) and Saturday afternoons (12.30pm for 1pm start) all Subject to weather conditions.
