Ian Sharkey was another Founder Member of the Club who passed away 8 years ago after struggling with is health for some time. His son, Ken Sharkey remained a member of the Club until moving away from the area earlier this year.
With several of our senior players representing the Club at Centre Events today, our field was a little smaller than usual but that did not detract from the quality of some of the bowling. In fact our absent senior bowlers would have been hard pushed at times to compete with those present today. Again the Weather Gods were on our side (just!) and we completed the match in dry conditions, just in time to watch the rain set in afterwards. Our winners were pushed hard by the Runners Up of Eileen Ponting & Ray Anderson, but scraped home in the end. Congratulations go to our Vice President and President, Doug Laughlan and Richard Ponting.
