What an amazing community Beach Haven is. A large group of local residents, gathered by Ray White’s Office team of Glenn Carpenter, Regan and Erin – and probably a few others, joined us to sample an evening’s bowling and socialising. And what a great evening it was. The weather could not have been better, and many visitors, some new to bowling, thoroughly enjoyed themselves getting to grips with the game, the fun atmosphere and live music. The evening was capped off with a dinner provided by Club members which was well received by all, some raffles and and an outstanding auction of items provided by local businesses including Fraser Cars and Kumeu Cottage. Our grateful thanks go to all the doners of items and also to those who bid so generously for them.
Community-run facilities such as ourselves simply could not exist without the support of the local community and our sincere thanks go to Glenn and his team for organising this 10th Ray White Night event over the past five years.
Lawn bowling in no longer the exclusive preserve of the not-so-young among us. Many elite players today are nowhere near Gold Card years and new match formats have been developed to enable games to be completed in an evening or half day form. Beach Haven Bowling Club is a Community owned Club and we welcome new players of all ages at any time to try the game out with us.
