Baker-Eady Trophy Played in delightful Conditions.

What a beautifully fine and warm spring day we had at The Haven for the Baker Eady trophy this year. This delightful Trophy was donated by past members Julie Baker and Gwen Eady following their trip to China some years ago, and has been played for in a regular Tournament for our members since then. It is usually played in a Drawn Rotational Triples format but numbers dictated a change to pairs and players swapped duties from lead to skip following each game.

Whilst one or two players would probably prefer to forget their performance today, the standard of play, especially for some of our newer members, was amazingly high with Dave Hilson’s efforts being well worthy of mention. However there can only be one winning team and it took a fine and consistent performance from Roy Parker and John Everett with 2 Wins + a Draw to get up over runners-up Rick Markovina and Zelda Sullivan. Well done John & Roy, it was a great effort.

We were also graced with presence of Gwen Eady herself to present the Trophy. Gwen is a past member of the Executive Committee on the Club and held the post of Treasurer for many years. Lovely to see you again Gwen, don't be a stranger.
