Burns Night Another "Reet Guid Shindig!!!"

Once again our Burns Night Celebratory Social Bowls Night has proved to be a winner. A good turnout of members and friends participated and, apart from the bowling, witnessed the historic ceremony of Piping in the Haggis (thanks to Andrew Wilkie – piper extrodinaire) followed by a spirited and moving rendition of Robert Burn’s iconic poem “Address to the Haggis”. Having addressed it and also toasted it in traditional fashion, it found its way to the food table. Naturally the Haggis was served with traditional sides of “neeps & tatties” (mashed turnips and potatoes) for afficianados, or ham, choice of salads and boiled potatoes for the less adventurous, followed by apple pie and cream.

Don't ask about the calories.....

Our thanks go to Andrew Wilkie who arose from his sickbed to play for us, and also to Ian Little who is to be nominated for Performance of the Season at the Beach Haven Oscars Ceremony for 2019.

Burns Night has always been a popular event for us and this year is no exception. Thanks go also to our guests for supporting Club it is very much appreciated.
